A striking new look

The All-New Focus is designed to create an image that’s as elegant as it is sporty. An athletic shape is formed by flowing, sculpted lines that are also designed to improve aerodynamics. And there’s a tangible sense of sophistication and refinement you’ll notice the moment you set eyes on the car.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the ambience

Step into the All-New Focus and you’ll immediately sense that you, and your passengers, are going to enjoy the journey. Clean, uncluttered lines combine with a layout that puts every control close to hand, while smart design and exceptional detailing create a space that’s as relaxing as it is invigorating.

Technology with purpose

The All-New Focus is built to improve your driving experience in every way.

This next generation car is packed with advanced features like Ford Co-Pilot360, an impressive set of Driver Assist Technologies including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go and Lane Centring, and Active Park Assist 2. Together, these smart technologies can help manage acceleration, braking, and even steering. It’s technology that’s so effortless and useful, you’ll wonder how you ever did without it.

Your personal driving assistant

Co-Pilot360 combines a range of technologies that, together, work to make your driving experience more comfortable and more enjoyable than ever. For example, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go automatically adjusts your cruise control speed based on the vehicle ahead. If traffic slows to a standstill, the engine will automatically stop and restart when the road clears. The system can even recognise speed signs and adjust your cruise control speed accordingly. Lane Centring technology can also provide steering assistance by following road markings to help keep you positioned in the middle of your lane.

Stress-free parking and pulling out

The latest generation of Active Park Assist not only steers you into parking spots, but controls the acceleration, gear shifting and braking as well. Available in Focus models with an automatic transmission, this smart technology makes parking effortless. After activation, you simply select a side of the road and whether you want to parallel or perpendicular park. Then you push and hold the button and let your car do all the work for you.

Headlights that help you see around bends

Adaptive Lighting with Ford Dynamic LED headlights and daytime running lights deliver a precise and intensely bright light pattern that automatically adjusts to suit different road and driving conditions. In addition, the glare-free high beam adjusts itself automatically to avoid dazzling other drivers, and the new system can even read the curve of the road to illuminate corners and crossings before you enter them.

Driving dynamics tailored to you

Personalise your driving experience by altering the Focus’ throttle response, steering, and even gear-change behaviour to match your driving style. Selectable drive modes include ‘Normal’, ‘Eco’ and ‘Sport’.

Smart, convenient and space-saving

The electric parking brake is a simple addition that has some surprising advantages. For instance, it gives you more room in the cabin, it’s easier to apply, and you won’t have to get the brakes serviced as regularly. And to apply the brake, all you have to do is press a button in the centre console.

Important information at a glance

The Head-up display projects your vehicle’s dashboard information into your field of vision, so you can stay informed without having to make distracting glances down to the dashboard. The information shown on the colour display can also be fully customised to suit your preferences.

Sees the road signs you might miss

Whether the signs are at the side of the road or above it, permanent or temporary, Traffic Sign Recognition can identify them. Icons for speed limits and no-overtaking signs are displayed on the instrument cluster, alerting you to changing restrictions.

Helping to keep you inside the speed limit

Intelligent Speed Assist is designed to enhance your speed control, enabling you to concentrate on the road. First, a front-facing camera automatically detects the current speed limit. If activated, the system adjusts your maximum speed setting to that limit.

A smarter cruise control

This system adjusts your cruise control speed based on the vehicle ahead. If traffic slows to a standstill, this smart technology can bring your vehicle to a complete stop. And when the traffic clears, the car will automatically accelerate back up to the pre-set speed.

More responsive steering in emergencies

Evasive Steering Assist helps you steer around stopped or slower vehicles to avoid collisions. The system uses radar and a camera to detect slower-moving and stationary vehicles ahead, and provides steering support to help you avoid a vehicle if a collision is imminent. The technology activates if there’s insufficient space to avoid a collision by braking and you initiate evasive action.

An advanced system to help you stay in your lane

The Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if you’re unintentionally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Aid provides gentle steering torque assistance to help guide you back into your lane. If your wheel touches the line or edge of the road, Lane Keeping Alert vibrates the steering wheel and displays a visual warning. The technology automatically deactivates at speeds below 64 km/h, or can be turned off manually.

Technology that sees what you can’t see

The Blind Spot Information System uses RADAR sensors to see vehicles that may be hidden in your blind spot. They’re situated on either side of your Focus and alert you with an orange light, clearly displayed in the side door mirror.

Spots the vehicles you might miss

Cross Traffic Alert is part of the Blind Spot Information System. When you’re reversing out of a space and have limited visibility of the traffic situation, Cross Traffic Alert can detect oncoming vehicles and sound a warning. The technology illuminates a light in the wing mirror too (left or right depending on the direction of oncoming traffic).

Technology that can prevent multiple collisions

Post collision braking helps reduce the likelihood of a secondary collision in the event of an accident. If the system detects an accident, it automatically applies the emergency brakes. This helps to prevent the car rolling towards oncoming traffic or other obstacles in the road.

Technology that tells you when you’re getting tired

Driver Alert constantly monitors your driving behaviour and is designed to detect any changes that could be caused by fatigue. If the system identifies you’re becoming less vigilant, a warning icon appears in the display, suggesting you take a break. If your driving alertness further declines, the message is repeated and combined with a chime.

Maximum cornering control

Torque Vectoring Control reacts to the road surface 100 times per second. (That’s 33 times faster than the blink of an eye.) Using this information, it balances the amount of power delivered to each of the two front wheels. This maximises grip and sharpens handling around corners and over undulations in the road.

Comfortable and connected

Clean lines, a sleek layout and sophisticated look. The interior of All-New Focus is more comfortable, spacious and chic than ever before. It's also more connected. SYNC 3 with voice control keeps you safely in touch and in control of your phone, entertainment and navigation. Download the FordPass app on your smartphone and unlock even more SYNC 3 features, like Live Traffic, Parking Search and Points of Interest.

Go hands-free with SYNC 3

Ford SYNC 3 is a state-of-the-art system that enables you to stay connected and control your phone, music and navigation system with natural voice commands. You can even call up a list of local restaurants just by saying “I’m hungry”. It can read out your text messages too. The colour touchscreen features pinch-and-swipe gestures for intuitive navigation. SYNC 3 also connects to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and with AppLink, you can access some of your favourite smartphone apps.

Your favourite music, as it’s meant to be heard

Whatever your taste in music, it deserves to sound as the artist intended. That’s exactly what you can expect in the All-New Focus. Why? Because it’s available with B&O PLAY. This premium level 675-watt audio system delivers a rich, powerful sound via a 10-speaker, woofer and subwoofer inclusive set-up. This advanced technology has been specifically designed, developed and fine-tuned for the Focus by B&O PLAY’s specialist acousticians. So, turn it up and enjoy your favourite bands and songs in the concert hall that is your car’s cabin.

Let in some sunshine

The Focus is available with a full-length panoramic roof that completely replaces the steel roof panel. This lets natural light flood into the car to create a light and airy interior. The front half is power-operated and can tilt or slide right back, and a full-length, retractable sunshade lets you open the glass to get some fresh air while staying protected from the sun.

A hands-free tailgate for effortless opening and closing

If you’ve got your hands full, and your Focus Wagon senses the proximity of your KeyFree key fob, all you have to do is wave your foot under the rear bumper and the tailgate will automatically open or close.

Charging on the go

The interior of the Focus is designed to maximise space and convenience. For example, the large media bin in front of the gear lever is big enough for even the largest smartphones. And with wireless charging also available for compatible smartphones*, it has never been easier to make sure your devices are always ready to use.

*Many phones are able to charge wirelessly, to be compatible your phone device will need to have Qi or you will need to have a Qi charging case.

The power you want and efficiency you need

The All-New Focus is available with a range of powerful and highly fuel-economical engines, all complemented by 8-speed automatic with a rotary gear shift dial or 6-speed manual transmissions. The exterior design has also been sculpted to create a shape that’s both athletic and aerodynamic, whilst helping to improve efficiency even further.

A sophisticated new 8-speed automatic transmission with a rotary gear shift dial

The All-New Focus is the first Ford to feature this advanced new automatic transmission. With improved acceleration and super-smooth gear changes, it’s engineered from the ground up to enhance your driving experience and maximise performance. We've replaced the traditional gear leaver with a console-mounted rotary gear shift dial. This gives the interior a cleaner, more modern layout. And there's another useful feature: when you park your car, the shifter automatically sets itself to parking mode.

Get the most out of your engine

The new and improved 1.0 and 1.5 litre Ford EcoBoost petrol engines are designed to give you all the power you’d expect from much larger engines. Ford EcoBoost technology delivers performance that’s smooth, responsive and rewarding. To make them even more efficient, both engines now feature cylinder deactivation. This shuts off a cylinder when torque demand is low, such as on a motorway. When torque demand increases, the cylinder springs back to life to give you the power you need.

A new standard for diesel engines

The 1.5 and 2.0 litre Ford EcoBlue diesel engines are highly advanced, turbo-charged engines that deliver measurably improved efficiency, performance and refinement. These new engines can improve fuel efficiency, are more responsive and are also quieter than ever before.

Your safety. Our priority.

A series of smart technologies are designed to protect you, your family, and other road users. For example, Active Braking and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection can warn you of potential collisions and even apply the brakes automatically if you don’t react in time.

A system that can help protect pedestrians

Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection uses RADAR and camera technology to scan the road ahead. If a collision risk with a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist is detected, it’ll then provide you with a warning. If you don’t respond in time, the system can automatically apply up to full braking force to help reduce the severity of, or even eliminate, some frontal collisions.

Helping you brake at higher speeds

The Active Braking system is an innovative safety feature that works when you’re traveling at speeds of over 50km/h. The technology uses RADAR to scan the road ahead and if it detects a collision is likely, will warn you. If you don’t react, the system primes the brakes then starts braking to help slow you down. Below a speed of 50km/h another technology is there to help you: Active City Stop. Combined, these two technologies give you the reassurance of braking assistance through the whole speed range.

Prevents annoying dents and scratches

It’s easy to bang your door against things in tight parking spaces. But open any of the four doors on a Focus and a protective barrier springs out to shield the paintwork on your car and those alongside.

Room for everything

The brand new interior makes full use of every square millimetre of its space to give you the most versatile Focus ever. There’s generous head, leg and elbow room at the front and back of the vehicle, so even your tallest passengers will feel comfortable. The rear seats split 60/40 and can fold almost completely flat to maximise space for your luggage. And there’s an adjustable load floor in the boot, which can be raised to give you a hidden storage compartment, or lowered to increase space.

Loads of space

With impressive load space, you’ll never be short of room for your luggage. Tall passengers in the front or the rear will also appreciate the extra knee and leg room, especially on longer journeys. And an adjustable load floor and a hands-free tailgate (wagon only) make loading your car as easy as it can be.

Spacious and sophisticated

The ultra-modern new design doesn’t just help provide a more enjoyable driving experience. It also gives you loads more space. The interior is roomier, lighter and airier than ever before, providing a more sophisticated and relaxing, yet invigorating ambience.

A handy adjustable load floor

Included as standard on Estate only, the floor of the boot has two height settings, so you can create a hidden compartment of varying size underneath. When set in its highest position, and with the rear seats folded, you get a completely flat load floor. There’s space under the adjustable load floor to store the tonneau cover, too.

All the cargo space you need

Whatever body style you choose, the All-New Focus has been designed to give you all the space you need. The rear seats can be split 60/40 to maximise versatility, and they can fold flat, giving you more luggage space than ever before. There’s even a handy load-through ski hatch.
