MORE POWER. MORE REFINEMENT. MORE MUSTANG

Driving Experience

A magnetically-controlled suspension system, a new 12” customisable digital instrument and information cluster, and advanced driving technologies such as Selectable Driving Modes and Adaptive Cruise Control make every drive in the Mustang an unforgettable experience.

Introducing MagneRide™ Damping System

This advanced new suspension system delivers both driving confidence and exceptional comfort. The system continually monitors road conditions and driver intention, checking and adjusting the dampers up to one thousand times per second. Selecting different Drive Modes automatically adjusts the system’s calibration for exceptional stability, ride comfort and control in all conditions.

Gauge your performance

Track Apps measures multiple performance metrics and displays them in the instrument cluster, helping you get the most from your New Ford Mustang. Using Track Apps, you can view an acceleration timer, brake performance, lap times and more. All this information helps you to maximise Mustang’s capabilities, and your enjoyment, whenever you’re on track.

12” Digital Cluster

The 12” LCD instrument cluster is the first all-digital display available on Mustang. Designed to help you get the most from every driving experience, this customisable cluster will deliver information displays optimised to match the selected Drive Mode. The cluster configuration will automatically change depending on Drive Mode, and can be programmed to display a range of gauges in one of seven different colours. Plus, you can even create your own.

Selectable Drive Modes

With the flick of a switch you can change and optimise Mustang’s performance settings from Normal to Sport+, Track and Snow/Wet. Depending on which Mode you select, you can change steering effort, throttle response, gearshift control (automatic only) and Electronic Stability Control settings to suit the conditions and your own personal driving preferences. With MyMode you can then save your preferred settings, including the intensity of the car’s Active Valve Exhaust. And for a truly exhilarating experience on a track, a new Drag Strip mode maximises acceleration from a standing start.

New LED headlights and daytime running lights

Mustang now comes with all-LED tri-bar headlamps to deliver a precise and intensely bright light pattern. A useful night-driving aid, auto high beam also temporarily dips your headlights when it detects oncoming traffic or a vehicle ahead, stopping you dazzling other drivers. It then automatically reverts back to high beam, giving you maximum visibility. In addition, daytime running lights not only look stunning, they’re designed to help increase your visibility.

Cruise control that can adapt automatically

With Adaptive Cruise Control technology, you choose the speed you want to drive at and the system will maintain it. If the built-in RADAR sensor and the camera detect detects a vehicle ahead, it will slow your vehicle to maintain a pre-set distance. Once the road in front is clear, the system will accelerate to your chosen speed.

Extra control during hill starts

Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards or forwards when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2-3 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.

An advanced system to help you stay in your lane

A Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if you’re unintentionally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Alert then warns you by vibrating the steering wheel and displaying a visual warning. If you're slow to react or don’t respond, Lane Keeping Aid can provide steering torque assistance to help guide you back into the right lane. The technology is designed for multi-lane roads (like motorways), so will automatically deactivate at speeds below 43mph, or can be turned off manually.

Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance

An important part of Ford SYNC is Emergency Assistance. In the event of an accident, where the airbag is deployed or the fuel-pump deactivated, the technology can use a Bluetooth® - paired and connected mobile phone to help you contact the Emergency Services. You can choose to stop the call, or talk to those services if you need to. Crucially, the system is designed to supply vital information, such as your GPS coordinates.

Comfort and Convenience

The new Mustang is designed so that you can relax and fully immerse yourself in the driving experience - whether that’s a cruise through the city streets or a road trip to wherever.

Go hands-free with SYNC 3

SYNC 3 is our most advanced version to date. It’s faster and easier to use, with enhanced voice commands and even more functionality. The new interface has larger buttons for improved usability, and the 8” colour touchscreen now features pinch-and-swipe gestures found on smartphones and tablets for even more intuitive navigation. SYNC 3 also features AppLink, Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto, to display your smartphone’s information on the touchscreen.

Colour your drive

Choose a hue to suit your mood for night driving with Ambient Lighting. Personalise the colour of your cluster gauges by choosing from seven colours of ambient light, or by creating three favourite colour blends with the MyColour feature.

Your Mustang. Your rules.

With MyMode, you can program your own personal drive mode and save your preferred settings. That includes steering effort, throttle response, gearshift control (automatic only), Electronic Stability Control settings, and even the intensity of the car’s Active Valve Exhaust.

Your favourite music, as it’s meant to be heard

Something all music fans love to hear; high quality sound from outstanding audio systems designed in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen – all expertly tuned to suit the acoustics of every model’s interior. A premium 1000-watt output from 10 built-in speakers and a subwoofer create a rich and powerful sound.

Connect with Apple CarPlay

If you use an iPhone, SYNC 3 lets you access your music, podcasts, maps, audio books and more via Apple CarPlay. Simply connect your iPhone to SYNC 3 with a USB and your phone screen will be displayed on the system’s 8” colour touchscreen. You can then use Siri voice control or familiar touchscreen gestures, to access all the features you want. You can also use Siri to make hands-free calls and send text messages.

Plug into Android Auto

With state-of-the-art SYNC 3, you can make hands-free calls and send text messages from your Android mobile phone, just by using intuitive voice commands. You can access music, podcasts and maps on your Android phone, too. All you have to do is connect it via Android Auto, using a USB and your phone screen will be displayed on the 8” pinch-and-swipe touchscreen.

Worry-free car sharing with MyKey

Ford Key® lets you set a pre-selected maximum speed limit, a seatbelt reminder and even the volume of the audio system. The technology is designed to give you peace of mind if you lend your vehicle to a friend or family member, because you can programme the restrictions you want to set for that key. You can keep the unrestricted ‘admin’ key yourself and even have more than one of both if you want.

Start your vehicle with the touch of a button

Mustang automatically senses the presence of its own unique key fob, even if it’s in your pocket or bag. So just press the Ford Power starter button and the engine fires to life.

Easier reversing

Bollards, bicycles, low walls… The rear-view camera shows whatever’s behind you on a screen built into the 8” SYNC 3 screen. As well as revealing objects you might miss, the system displays virtual lines to help you park into the smallest of spaces. The camera activates automatically when you select reverse gear.

Door mirrors and Mustang lamps

Whenever you open the door, the ground is lit by a Mustang pony shaped puddle of light.

Performance and Efficiency

There are some differences to Mustang that you’ll see straight away. Others you’ll hear, feel and sense, especially with a modified 5.0L V8 engine and a range of innovative new technologies.

One Mustang. Two powerful engines

We’ve added dual-fuel high-pressure direct injection and a low-pressure port fuel injection to the Mustang’s renowned 5.0L V8 engine. The new BULLITT has an even more powerful engine, producing 469PS at 7,250 rpm and 529 Nm of torque.  We’ve also increased the overboost on the 2.3L Ford EcoBoost engine while reducing emissions even further still.

Active Valve Exhaust

Take control of the sound your Mustang makes with this new technology. Simply choose Active Valve Exhaust from the menu on the 12” Digital Cluster and you can adjust the intensity of the exhaust note from four different settings: Quiet, Normal, Sport or Race track. With Quiet Mode you can even set up a timer so you know exactly when it’s going to operate.

Serious stopping power

A specially created, high-performance braking system incorporates four-piston front brake calipers and ventilated discs, the performance of which is linked to a series of sophisticated electronic safety and driver assistance technologies. The 5.0-litre V8 GT is equipped with an even higher specification: 6-piston Brembo™ front calipers that bite down on 15" vented rotors.

A smooth and responsive 6-speed manual

Both the 5.0L V8 and 2.3L Ford EcoBoost engines are available with 6-speed manual transmissions. A short 1st gear ratio delivers excellent acceleration from a standstill, whilst an overdrive 6th gear ratio reduces engine rpm at higher speeds to help improve fuel economy. With a smooth and precise gearshift, a short-throw between gears and positive shift stops, the transmission is designed for performance driving.

A sophisticated 10-speed automatic transmission

With an advanced new 10-speed automatic transmission, you get exceptional acceleration as well as outstanding fuel efficiency. The gearbox’s electronic control system enables settings that optimise performance for Mustang’s different Drive Modes. And with real-time adaptive shift-scheduling, the transmission can adapt to changing conditions and select the right gear in any situation: from motorway to track. With steering wheel-mounted paddles-shifters, too, you’re always in command of Mustang’s impressive power.

Safety and Security

Designed to help protect you, your passengers, pedestrians and your car, Mustang incorporates a range of advanced safety features.

A system that can help protect pedestrians

Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection uses radar and camera technology to scan the road ahead. If a collision risk with a vehicle or pedestrian is detected, it’ll then provide you with a warning. If you don’t respond in time, the system can automatically apply up to full braking force to help reduce the severity of, or even eliminate, some frontal collisions.

Electronic Stability Control

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is designed to give you greater control of your vehicle. Sensors constantly monitor the speed of each individual wheel, as well as the vehicle’s direction and steering angle. ESC precisely balances braking power between each individual wheel and can also reduce power from the engine. This helps counter understeer and oversteer, making your vehicle more stable and easier for you to control. ESC and Traction Control can also reduce the risk of wheelspin in wet or icy conditions.

An early warning if a tyre is going flat

If any of your tyres start to lose pressure during your journey, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System warns you if there’s a puncture, or low pressure, by highlighting it in the instrument panel.

Quicker, shorter emergency stops

When it senses an emergency stopping situation, Electronic Stability Control pre-charges the braking system, closing any air gap between brake pads and discs. Known as Electronic Brake Prefill, this technology helps reduce the car’s braking distance.
