New Ford Transit Connect
NEW TRANSIT CONNECT
With a sophisticated new look, comprehensively updated interior, and more advanced technology than ever before, New Transit Connect has evolved.
The trademark Transit toughness, durability and functionality still remain, in features including an ingenious load-through bulkhead and flexible front passenger seating. With short and long wheelbase options providing load volumes up to 3.6m³ (VDA), payload capacity ranging from 579 – 865kg, and bodystyles including van and double-cab-in-van. But this is now an exceptionally sophisticated van equipped with valuable drive-assist technologies many of which are not available in cars today. Others help keep drivers connected, hands-free; to help them control and monitor their speed; and even to help protect pedestrians in their path.
Technology has also improved fuel economy and lowered emissions.
Every feature and technology in the New Ford Transit Connect is designed to make your life easier. Advanced technologies, available as options on selected models, including Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Keeping System, constantly work to help take the stress out of driving. Whilst other systems, including Active Park Assist and Adaptable Cruise Control, are activated manually to help when you need them.
Helping to keep you inside the speed limit
Intelligent Speed Assist is designed to enhance your speed control, enabling you to concentrate on the road. First, the Traffic Sign Recognition camera automatically detects the current speed limit (when activated), then the system adjusts your maximum speed setting to that limit. (option)
Parking made even easier
Active Park Assist can steer you into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces. Simply push a button and the sensors of this innovative system locate a suitable space as you drive past. Then it automatically steers you in, while all you do is operate the accelerator, gears and brake (following on-screen instructions and audible signals). It will pull out of parallel spaces as well. (option on selected models)
Headlamps that turn on automatically when needed
The new slimmer automatic headlights incorporate powerful HID Xenon lamps and striking LED daytime running lights. An integrated sensor detects failing light at dusk, or when there’s a sudden change in light conditions. This triggers the automatic headlights to turn themselves on, which can make driving both easier and safer. (option on selected models)
Sees the road signs you might miss
Whether the signs are at the side of the road or above it, permanent or temporary, Traffic Sign Recognition can identify them. An icon of that speed or a no-overtaking sign appears on the instrument cluster and changes every time it detects you entering a new limit. (option on selected models)
An advanced system to help you stay in your lane
A Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if you’re unintentionally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Alert then warns you by vibrating the steering wheel and displaying a visual warning. If you're slow to react or don’t respond, Lane Keeping Aid can provide steering torque assistance to help guide you back into the right lane. The technology is designed for multi-lane roads (like motorways), so will automatically deactivate at speeds below 43mph or can be turned off manually. (option)
Sensors that take the stress out of parking
Front and rear parking distance sensors help you judge the distance between your vehicle and obstacles in front or behind you. When the sensors detect an object, they activate a visual and audible warning that intensifies the closer you get to it. (Option)
Performance and Efficiency
Powered by your choice of our latest Ford EcoBoost petrol or EcoBlue diesel engines, the New Ford Transit Connect combines power, durability and efficiency. And with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission, both offering a more rewarding driving experience, the van is the perfect partner for your business.
1.5 EcoBlue diesel engine
Our 75 PS, 100 PS and 120 PS TDCi diesel engines impress with their refined power and superb efficiency, offering fuel economy as low as 4.7/100km and 123g/km CO2 emissions. On town or city roads to long drives on the motorway, their smooth torque delivery is invaluable on inclines or when overtaking.
A sophisticated new 8-speed automatic transmission
The New Transit Connect features an advanced new automatic transmission. With improved acceleration and super-smooth gear changes, it’s engineered from the ground up to enhance your driving experience, optimise fuel efficiency, and maximise the performance of the van.
Comfort and Convenience
Car-like comfort, durable seating and a commanding driving position make the Transit Connect a relaxing and comfortable place to be. And with the addition of FordPass Connect, you can now enjoy 4G Wi-Fi, up-to-the-minute traffic updates, remote vehicle locking and unlocking, and much more. It’s a level of connectivity that until now you could only experience at home or in the office.
SYNC 3. For an effortless hands-free experience
Ford SYNC 3 is an advanced system that enables you to stay connected and control your phone, music and navigation system. Choose either voice commands or the 6” colour touchscreen with pinch-and-swipe gestures for intuitive navigation. Live Traffic can help you avoid the jams. You can even call up a list of local restaurants simply by saying “I’m hungry”(option)
Charging on the go
Wireless charging is available for certain smartphones, which means it’s never been easier to make sure your devices are always ready to use. (option)
Safety and Security
With a comprehensive line-up of safety and security technologies, the New Ford Transit Connect is designed to protect you, your passengers and your belongings. Some technologies, including Pre-Collisision Assist with Pedestrian Recognition, and Emergency Brake Assist, help to reduce the severity of an accident should one occur. Other technologies, such as anti-tamper door locks and a Thatcham Category 1 Alarm, help to keep your valuables as safe as possible.
A system that can help protect pedestrians
Pre-Collision Assist detects vehicles and pedestrians in the road ahead, or who could cross the vehicle’s path, and warns you of their presence. If you don’t respond, the system automatically applies the brakes. This technology is designed to help reduce the severity of accidents, or help avoid them altogether, and functions at speeds of up to 80km/h. (option)
Enhanced stability in difficult driving conditions
Electronic Stability Control constantly monitors your vehicle’s progress. It senses when it’s losing grip and automatically applies a braking pulse to individual wheels, helping to stabilise it. Using advanced sensors from the anti-lock braking and Traction Control System it monitors the behaviour of the vehicle.
Maximum grip with minimum effort
An advanced Traction Control System eliminates excessive wheelspin and gives you the best possible grip, performance and stability, just when you need it most. The system constantly monitors and adjusts the power delivered to the vehicle’s individual wheels ensuring maximum contact and grip when you’re accelerating.
The redesigned interior of the New Transit Connect has more cargo space than ever. You can carry items up to 3.4 metres long and two Euro-pallets. Optional side load doors on both sides of the van make loading and unloading the van more convenient. And with smart storage locations throughout the cabin, you’ll never be short of space.
Useful load-through storage
Carry items up to 3.0 metres in length in the L1 van, thanks to the clever load-through bulkhead. L2 models are capable of holding 3.4-metre long items. (Load-through bulkhead is available as an option on the Base, Trend and Limited series and must be ordered with dual passenger seats).
Impressive load space
Transit Connect features a new full design of steel bulkhead that increases usable load space by approximately 50 litres. There’s also enough room for two Euro-pallets or four standard 8’ x 4’ boards in the load box.
