Driving Experience

The New Transit Courier is hugely accommodating – and not just for your cargo. The cabin is packed with smart technologies that help you to get the most out of your day. Cruise Control with Adjustable Speed Limiter helps to make those long journeys less tiring and more efficient. Whilst a rear-view camera and Parking Distance Sensors make parking easier and more hassle-free.

Less tiring drives, more economical journeys

Cruise Control lets you set a speed then maintains it until you brake or accelerate. Via toggles on the steering wheel you can also adjust your speed while you’re driving.

In addition, the Adjustable Speed Limiter device helps you drive within a pre-set limit that you select. Not only does it help you to save fuel, the system can minimise the likelihood of you exceeding the speed limit too. As well as their practical benefits, both technologies can make long motorway journeys more relaxing.

Easier reversing

Bollards, bicycles, low walls… The rear-view camera shows whatever’s behind you on a screen built into the centre console. As well as revealing objects you might miss, the system displays virtual lines to help you park into the smallest of spaces. The camera activates automatically when you select reverse gear.

Extra control during hill starts

Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards or forwards when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2-3 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.

Sensors that take the stress out of parking

Parking distance sensors help you judge the distance between your vehicle and obstacles around you. When the sensors detect an object, they activate an audible warning that intensifies the closer you get to it.

Comfort and Convenience

The interior of the New Transit Courier combines ultra-modern design with thoughtful technologies to deliver a comfortable and convenient driving experience. The addition of advanced SYNC 3 connectivity enables effortless control of your phone, entertainment, navigation and more. Whilst clever systems, including Automatic Headlights, Rain-Sensing Wipers and Ford Easy-Fuel help to make your working day easier.

SYNC 3. For an effortless hands-free experience

Ford SYNC 3 is an advanced system that enables you to stay connected and control your phone, music and navigation system. Choose either voice commands or the 6” colour touchscreen with pinch-and-swipe gestures for intuitive navigation. Live Traffic* can help you avoid the jams. You can even call up a list of local restaurants simply by saying “I’m hungry”.

A safe home for all your devices

The device dock is designed to hold your satnav, Smartphone or MP3 Player and includes a USB connectivity port.

Set the ideal temperature

With Electronic Automatic Temperature Control you can select the temperature you prefer and the system maintains it with advanced air conditioning.

Ford Easy-Fuel, for foolproof filling-up

This useful technology makes it almost impossible to put the wrong fuel in your vehicle, because the wrong nozzle simply won’t fit. Even better, as Ford Easy-Fuel is a capless system, you’ll never have to handle a dirty fuel cap again.

Performance and Efficiency

Efficient, agile and fun to drive. The New Transit Courier combines rewarding driving dynamics with impressively low CO2 emissions and outstanding fuel economy. The award-winning 1.0 Ford EcoBoost petrol engine and the refined 1.5 Duratorq TDCi diesel engine are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission to deliver smooth and responsive performance wherever you go.

A 6-speed transmission saves on fuel

New Transit Courier is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, making it more economical and efficient. Once you reach a high enough speed, just slip your van into 6th gear and save on fuel while you’re cruising along. You’ll find the gear changes are smooth and quick too.

Better aerodynamics for improved economy

When you’re driving slowly, the Active Grille Shutter system keeps the grille vent open to cool the engine. When you pick up speed it can automatically close, improving aerodynamics and helping to save fuel. Over time, this technology can make a big difference.

Use less fuel with Auto-Start-Stop

When you stop at traffic lights or your vehicle is idling in a queue, this technology can automatically switch off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the headlights, air-conditioning, radio and the Ford SYNC system). When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, or press the accelerator on an automatic, and the system restarts. Auto-Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).

Make light work of every turn

Unlike larger vans, the New Transit Courier has a tight turning circle of just 10.5 metres which makes U-turns and parking on busy streets quick and easy, even on narrow streets.

Safety and Security

The New Transit Courier incorporates a range of smart technologies that are designed to help to protect you, your vehicle, and other road users. Systems such as Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control help to improve your stability in challenging driving conditions. And the Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems can even alert you when it detects that your tyres lose pressure.

Enhanced stability in difficult driving conditions

Electronic Stability Control constantly monitors your vehicle’s progress. It senses when it’s losing grip and automatically applies a braking pulse to individual wheels, helping to stabilise it. Using advanced sensors from the anti-lock braking and Traction Control System it monitors the behaviour of the vehicle.

Maximum grip with minimum effort

An advanced Traction Control System eliminates excessive wheelspin and gives you the best possible grip, performance and stability, just when you need it most. The system constantly monitors and adjusts the power delivered to the vehicle’s individual wheels ensuring maximum contact and grip when you’re accelerating.

An early warning if a tyre is going flat

If any of your tyres starts to lose pressure during your journey, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System warns you immediately if there’s a puncture by lighting up an icon on the instrument panel.

Utility

The New Transit Courier makes light work of almost any job. The 1,620 mm load floor has a carrying capacity of up to 600 kg, more than enough space for cargo, toolboxes and equipment. And with the optional fold-flat passenger seat and folding mesh bulkhead, you can carry items up to 2.59 metres long. The sliding door on the side of the van also allows easy loading and unloading of your cargo.

Useful load-through storage

The New Transit Courier is available with a range of bulkheads that divide the passenger cabin from the load space. When the optional folding mesh bulkhead is combined with the fold-and-dive passenger seat, you can load items up to 2.59 metres long through the rear doors and into the cabin.

Impressive load space and access

Intelligent design in the New Transit Courier provides impressive load space in all three dimensions: length, width and height. The 1,620-mm load floor provides 2.3 cubic metres of carrying capacity. And with the standard bulkhead fitted, the sliding side door opens to reveal a wide 453 mm aperture allowing loads to be put in with ease.

Multi-piece rear bumper for easy repair

Unlike other vans in its class, there’s no need to replace the Transit Courier’s entire bumper if you’ve sustained a dent to one end. That’s because a 3-section design means individual parts can be replaced as necessary for a low-cost repair.
