City streets, motorways, country roads… Wherever work takes you, Transit will take you in comfort. And a range of innovative technologies make driving and parking easier. From parking sensors to systems that can alert you to obstacles and pedestrians in the road, warn you if you begin to stray out of your lane and even monitor your driving behaviour to detect any changes which could be caused by fatigue. It’s definitely a case of working smarter, not harder.

Confidence in changeable conditions

An Intelligent AWD system can determine how much grip, cornering balance and responsiveness is required in wet, dry or icy conditions and on varying terrain. The technology is able to send drive to the front or rear axle depending on requirements. And this ‘torque on demand’ system delivers exceptional handling and improved efficiency.

Sensors that take the stress out of parking

Parking distance sensors help you judge the distance between your vehicle and obstacles around you. When the sensors detect an object, they activate an audible warning that intensifies the closer you get to it.

Lights that give you better nighttime visibility

If you’re indicating and turning into a road or pulling into a parking space, a light positioned at the top of the headlamp automatically illuminates the side of the road to give you enhanced visibility through the turn.

Extra control during hill starts

Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards or forwards when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2-3 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.

Control features that adapt to your load

Load Adaptive Control adjusts the Electronic Stability Control according to the overall weight your Transit is carrying. This ensures control and stability whether empty or fully loaded.

As well as being built tough, Transit is also designed to make working life easier. You’ll find a wide range of ingenious features such as clever stowage ideas and seats that can provide a desk top. And you can use voice control to make and take calls on the move thanks to SYNC technology. So while you keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road, you can do business on the move.

Your van: your office

With mobile connectivity built into the vehicle, it has never been easier to do business from wherever you are. So the cab incorporates features that are all designed to help you keep everything close to hand. You have two 12V sockets, Aux in and USB connectivity, plus cupholders, space for a laptop or A4 files and an optional underseat stowage tray too.

A protected load area that’s easy to keep clean

A durable load floor liner which not only protects the floor of your van but also helps reduce noise when you're driving.  The liner helps you keep your van clean as its easy to brush or wash.

Make light work of every turn

The turning circle of the L2 Transit Van is just 11.9 metres. And even the longer models are highly manoeuvrable and easy to turn, particularly with advanced power steering

Ford Easy-Fuel, for foolproof filling-up

This useful technology makes it almost impossible to put the wrong fuel in your vehicle, because the wrong nozzle simply won’t fit. Even better, as Ford Easy-Fuel is a capless system, you’ll never have to handle a dirty fuel cap again.

Side Wind Stabilisation

Helps the driver to stay in lane in strong, gusty conditions by using the Electronic Stability Control system to sense when the vehicle is being affected by crosswinds.

SelectShift automatic transmission

The all-new 130 PS and 170 PS Ford EcoBlue 2.0L TDCi engines are available with a new six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. This is designed to provide a smooth and relaxing driving experience, especially in busy stop-start traffic. The transmission allows you to change gear manually if you prefer, using the facia-mounted gearshift. It also provides the ability to lock out gears in more challenging driving conditions, e.g. on slippery surfaces or steep gradients.

A range of all-new Ford EcoBlue 2.0 litre TDCi engines offer increased power and torque and, at the same time, deliver improved fuel economy and lower emissions. In addition, they already meet strict Euro Stage 6 emissions legislation. Combined with technologies that include Smart Regenerative Charging, Acceleration Control and Auto-Start-Stop, Transit is designed to minimise your fuel bills, lower your cost of ownership and maximise the return on your valuable investment.

Greater performance. Fewer emissions.

Engineered to meet strict Euro6 emissions standards, Transit’s Ford EcoBlue 2.0 litre TDCi engines combine out‐ standing performance and power with lower fuel consumption and emissions, from as low as 6.1 L/100km and 162g/km CO2. Available in three power outputs of 105 PS/ 360 Nm, 130 PS / 385 Nm and 170PS / 405 Nm, there’s an option to suit your needs

An additive that removes pollution

A selective catalytic reduction system uses AdBlue®, a urea/water-based fluid to convert NOx emissions in the exhaust gas into nitrogen and water. A particulate filter then reduces more than 99% of emitted solid particulates from the vehicle’s exhaust. To operate correctly, the AdBlue® tank of your Ford EcoBlue diesel engine must be filled with AdBlue® fluid. System warnings illuminate when fluid level becomes too low.

From helping to keep your tyres grounded through off-camber turns, to a system that can help keep your trailer safely in line: Transit is equipped with a long list of technologies that make life easier. There’s also a wide range of systems to help protect you, your van and its cargo.

Continuous protection against rolling over

Ford’s unique roll-rate sensor helps the Roll Stability Control system to keep the tyres grounded, specifically under conditions where there’s a high centre of gravity and when driving through off-camber turns.

Helping you to stay in control

Curve Control senses when a driver takes a curve too quickly, and can rapidly reduce engine torque – and apply brakes to individual wheels – to help keep the vehicle safely under control.

Doors that lock when you’re on the move

Drive-away locking will automatically lock all your vehicle’s doors as soon as you start to move off. The system is fitted as standard and you can switch it on or off via the instrument cluster. To aid assistance, vehicles are fitted with a crash unlock feature that’s automatically activated depending upon the severity of the crash.

Anti-tamper door locks

All door locks are protected by anti-tamper shielding designed to prevent them being broken by force.

The Transit has earned its reputation for capability and flexibility. Whichever wheelbase, roof height, or cab style you go for, you’re guaranteed vast cargo space and long load length. The load area is designed to maximise space, with room for up to four Europallets in L2 and L3 Vans and up to five in the L4 Van. Side and rear doors are designed to make it easy to load and unload your vehicle, too. And while the van’s efficiency can help your business make money, its low cost of ownership will help you save it.

The most efficient use of space

The Transit’s load area is now better and easier to work with than ever. Side-wall angles have been revised to make them more upright and the roof raised slightly to maximise useful space.

Tie-down points to keep your cargo secure

Side-wall mounted tie-down points help keep the load floor clear and are both DIN and ISO compliant.

A brighter-lit cargo area for easier loading

Loadspace lamps are fitted as standard. You can also specify the option of ultra-bright LED lighting if required.

More room for longer loads

Your van will easily fit loads you’d have to carry on a roof-rack with other vans. In fact, the Transit has an increased load length, so depending on the model you choose you can stow loads up to: 3.04m (L2), 3.49m (L3 vehicles) and 4.21m (L4 vehicles) long at the floor with a full steel bulkhead in place. (Base series figures used. Please note, loadspace length will differ between Base and Trend series)

Easy to step-up and into your van

A wide, high-grip step is integrated into the rear bumper making it easier to step into the cargo area and more convenient when loading by-hand.

Wide-opening rear doors

Tough rear doors incorporate a 360-degree seal to help reduce noise, make closing more secure and prevent water from leaking into the load area. The doors can be opened to 90 degrees and when required further to 180 degrees. Depending on the model, optional 236 degree hinges allow the doors to be opened all the way against the sides of the Van. Reflective decals on the door inner edge provide a high-visibility alert to other road users when the doors are open at 90 degrees.
