HOW TO CHARGE AN ELECTRIC CAR AT HOME

You have two options for charging your electric vehicle at home. The fastest is to use a dedicated home EV charging point, or you can plug your vehicle into a standard domestic socket using an optional home charging cable.

EV CHARGING CABLES

Your Ford EV will come equipped with a cable to use at AC public charge points, as not all have their own cables built in. For charging at home, you can simply plug into your regular mains supply using a different optional EV charging cable.

If you’re traveling abroad or want to connect to a different type of socket, you’ll find connectors for your charging cable, as well as other electric and hybrid accessories, in our online shop.

DOMESTIC POWER SOCKETS

You can charge your Ford EV from a standard domestic plug socket by purchasing an optional home charging cable. Charging in this way is slower than via a home EV charging point but can be convenient. Always ensure that socket suitability is checked by a qualified electrician (2). Adapters are also available for charging through industrial [connector type] power sockets.
