The people mover taken to a new level.

There’s a whole host of features packed into the New Tourneo Custom to improve the drive and feel. For example, the power-adjustable, heated seat and adjustable steering wheel provide the perfect ergonomic driving space for you. Whilst the response and feedback through the controls also give you confidence in all conditions, at high speed, wet or dry and laden or un-laden. Then there’s the suite of driver assistance technologies including Hill Start Assist, Torque Vectoring Control and Side Wind Mitigation.

Turning made easy

The new Tourneo Custom has a turning circle of just 11.6 metres, which is impressive for a vehicle of its size. This makes city driving, with all its parking, picking up and dropping off, so much easier.

New signature headlamps

HID headlamps deliver, a precise and intensely bright light pattern. And as well as being built for purpose, they’re designed to give New Tourneo Custom a distinctive look thanks to the inclusion of LED daytime running lights. In addition, Glare Free High Beam adjusts itself automatically to avoid dazzling other drivers and with static cornering and bending, these new headlamps help you see more clearly when driving around bends.

Extra control during hill starts

Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards or forwards when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2-3 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.

Sensors that take the stress out of parking

Parking distance sensors at the front and rear of the vehicle help you judge the distance between your vehicle and obstacles around you. When the sensors detect an object, they activate an audible warning that intensifies the closer you get to it. There’s also a visual warning, an indication of proximity to a stationary object shown either on the cluster or on the multi-function display depending on your vehicle spec.

Maximum cornering control

Torque Vectoring Control reacts to the road surface 100 times per second. (That’s 33 times faster than the blink of an eye.) Using this information, it balances the amount of power delivered to each of the two front wheels. This maximises grip and sharpens handling, helping you round corners and over undulations in the road.

Rear air suspension

With rear air suspension, the system automatically adjusts to maintain a constant ride height, regardless of the loading conditions. This means you'll enjoy a smoother ride whether alone, with passengers or in a fully laden vehicle.

Side Wind Stabilisation

Helps the driver to stay in lane in strong, gusty conditions by using the Electronic Stability Control system to sense when the vehicle is being affected by crosswinds.

Ford SYNC Emergency Assistance

An important part of Ford SYNC is Emergency Assistance††. In the event of an accident, where the airbag is deployed or the fuel-pump deactivated, the technology can use a Bluetooth®-paired and connected mobile phone to help you make a direct call to the Emergency Services. You can choose to stop the call, or talk to those services if you need to. Crucially, the system can supply vital information, such as your GPS coordinates, even if you are unable to.

With multi-adjustable seats, hands-free technology, sophisticated dual zone air conditioning, clever storage and more, you and your passengers can enjoy first class journeys.

Sitting comfortably, in lots of different ways

The driver’s seat is fully adjustable, along with the steering wheel, so you can find your ideal driving position. There’s a built-in armrest too, whilst adjustable lumbar support, heated front seats and a power-adjustable driver’s seat are options. Then there’s the highly versatile conference seating, where the second row can be turned around to face the rear of the vehicle. This offers numerous possible configurations to create the perfect space or to maximise the luggage area, without having to take any seats out.

If you ever need more than the usual load space, second and third row seats can be removed individually. This allows you to set up your vehicle to give you the exact space required.

Go hands-free with SYNC 3

SYNC 3 is our most advanced version to date. It’s faster and easier to use, with enhanced voice commands and even more functionality. The new interface has larger buttons for improved usability, and the colour Touchscreen now features pinch-and-swipe gestures found on smartphones and tablets for even more intuitive navigation. SYNC 3 also features AppLink, Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto, to display your smartphone’s information on the touchscreen.

Everything in its place and a place for everything

There’s plenty of clever covered storage, including on the top of the instrument cluster. The lidded compartment contains a 12V power socket, an auxiliary input and a standard USB port.

You can also have an optional 150-Watt, 240V power inverter socket fitted between the driver and passenger seats.

Smart features, such as a roller-covered cup-holder, bottle-holders, under-seat containers for laptops and files, door bins and a fold-out table help you keep things tidy and valuables out of sight.

Twin sliding doors

For greater flexibility and easier access, there are sliding doors on both sides. Great care has gone into the design of the doors, with the sliding door track covered to conceal the mechanism, improve aerodynamic efficiency and help reduce noise. There are also premium quality running boards below the doors which are fitted as standard.

Ford Easy-Fuel, for foolproof filling-up

This useful technology makes it almost impossible to put the wrong fuel in your vehicle, because the wrong nozzle simply won’t fit. Even better, as Ford Easy-Fuel is a capless system, you’ll never have to handle a dirty fuel cap again.

Wing mirrors that can protect themselves

To avoid accidental damage, power-foldable mirrors automatically fold inwards when you lock the vehicle. Tucked back, they also protect the stylish integrated indicators.

The perfect climate for driving

A redesigned climate control system delivers more effective air-conditioning with faster cooling and heating. It’s controlled by three rotary dials for easy operation. The cabin has dedicated footwell ducts for both driver and passengers and the air flow ensures that everyone has an individual vent. A pollen filter is also fitted to make sure the air you breathe is as fresh as possible.

Tourneo Custom Shuttle Bus

With a focus on passenger comfort, the New Tourneo Custom Shuttle Bus L2 offers generous space in each of its four rows of Direct Access Seats. Rear seats are easily reached from the kerb-side sliding doors. Available on Base series only, it's the ideal way to prioritise passenger comfort and mobility over luggage space.

The New Tourneo Custom incorporates a range of no compromise systems designed to maximise both performance and efficiency. These include the new Ford EcoBlue 2.0litre engine, an automatic transmission that delivers more efficient gear changes for you and Auto Start-Stop.

An additive that removes pollution

A selective catalytic reduction system uses AdBlue®, a urea/water-based fluid to convert NOx emissions in the exhaust gas into nitrogen and water. A particulate filter then reduces more than 99% of emitted solid particulates from the vehicle’s exhaust. To operate correctly, the AdBlue® tank of your Ford EcoBlue diesel engine must be filled with AdBlue® fluid. System warnings illuminate when fluid level becomes too low.

Use less fuel with Auto-Start-Stop

When you stop at traffic lights or your vehicle is idling in a queue, this technology can automatically switch off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the headlights, air-conditioning, radio and the Ford SYNC system). When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, or press the accelerator on an automatic, and the system restarts. Auto-Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).

SelectShift automatic transmission

Both the 130 PS and 170 PS engines are available with the six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. This is the standard powertrain of choice on a wide range of body styles and GVMs, and it’s designed to provide a smooth, relaxing driving experience, especially in busy stop-start traffic. The transmission allows you to change gear manually if you prefer, using the gear shifter buttons on the facia-mounted gear lever. It also provides the ability to lock out gears in more challenging driving conditions. For example, on slippery surfaces or steep gradients.

Essential journey information

An on-board trip computer gives you useful facts and figures about your mileage, fuel consumption, speed and the outside air temperature. It also includes ‘distance to empty’: roughly how far you can go on the fuel left in the tank. This is particularly useful on long journeys, or if you know you’ll be driving somewhere remote.

As you’d expect, safety is paramount in the New Tourneo Custom. There’s a host of technology to protect you, your passengers and the vehicle. And it all contributes to the vehicle’s 5-star rating by Euro NCAP.

A system that can help protect pedestrians

Pre-Collision Assist detects slower vehicles in the road ahead, or pedestrians and vehicles that could cross your path, and warns you of their presence. If you don’t respond, the system automatically applies the brakes. This technology is designed to help reduce the severity of accidents, or help avoid them altogether, and functions effectively at speeds of up to 50 mph / 80 km/h (assuming normal road and vehicle conditions).

5-star safety

As proof of its ability to protect you and your passengers, the New Tourneo Custom has a 5-star rating by Euro NCAP.

Maximum grip with minimum effort

An advanced Traction Control System eliminates excessive wheelspin and gives you the best possible grip, performance and stability, just when you need it most. The system constantly monitors and adjusts the power delivered to the vehicle’s individual wheels ensuring maximum contact and grip when you’re accelerating.

Enhanced stability in difficult driving conditions

Electronic Stability Control constantly monitors your vehicle’s progress. It senses when a vehicle is losing grip and automatically applies a braking pulse to individual wheels, helping to stabilise it. Using advanced sensors from the anti-lock braking and Traction Control System it monitors the behaviour of the vehicle.

Continuous protection against rolling over

Ford’s unique roll-rate sensor helps the Roll Stability Control system to keep the tyres grounded, specifically under conditions where there’s a high centre of gravity and when driving through off-camber turns.

Advanced systems for more controlled braking

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution combine to ensure that your braking is effective. Emergency Brake Assist also helps your vehicle achieve maximum braking effectiveness in an emergency situation. It’s controlled automatically via the Electronic Stability Control system, which senses how much pressure you’ve applied to the brake yourself and automatically increases it, if necessary. And if you brake heavily, the emergency brake light system flashes the brake lights to warn other drivers.

Surrounded by airbags

The New Tourneo Custom features a reassuringly comprehensive array of airbags. These include; a driver airbag as standard, plus optional passenger, head, thorax and side-curtain airbags to offer extra head protection in the event of an upper-side impact.

Helping to keep children safe

The New Tourneo Custom is designed to help keep young children safe and secure on every journey. It comes with rear ISOFIX child seat attachment points, so you can easily fit two child seats.

An early warning if a tyre is going flat

If it detects any of your tyres starting to lose pressure during your journey, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System warns you by lighting up an icon on the instrument panel.
